I have a 2' X 6' butcher block top work bench inside the home. I do gun work and other mechanical work on top of this table that involves solvents, oils, and other fluids. I have a vinyl work mat on the bench for the nasty stuff, but they are never big enough to cover the whole top. This product will prevent splash and runoff from getting directly on the wood, and its material is designed perfectly for that. Plus its rubber back keeps the pad in place and keeps things quiet and stationary instead of rolling around and slipping on the vinyl mat or tabletop. May not be what it was intended for, but it works great as a protective absorbent, non-slip work surface.
Sometimes I get water in the basement after it rains. This mat is the right size to keep the water from spreading all over the floor. Highly recommended. ;) :)
I originally purchased to park a motorcycle on but it’s too thin. I ended up cutting it into four pieces to line my garage cabinet shelves. It’s actually a perfect thickness, texture and fit. Much less expensive than heavy duty shelving liners.
did what it claimed to do
I had an oil pan previously, but it would move every time the car brushed against it. Then it bent when the car rolled over it. The tape doesn't seem to hold it in place very well, but I don't think it matters much. I only adjusted it once after a couple of months. Highly absorbent too!
I wanted to like this product. It absorbs pretty well.I read reviews about placing this outdoors and I expected that If I used it outside I'd need to weigh it down. What I didn't expect was the fact it is so light weight it will move from slight wind when I have my garage door open. I've got it placed under my Morris Minor project car. The front of the car is facing outwards and a couple of feet back from the door.My garage is fairly sheltered from the wind. It is not a wind tunnel BUT this mat will move with the more than the slightest breeze. It is just way too light. I don't want to use some kind of weights to weigh this down. The weights are simply in the way when working on the car. Realize that the car is on jack stands and we're working on the brake system, so we are constantly inside and under the car. Bump the mat and it moves. I know it seems like I am nit-picking, but it's annoying.Next time I will find something else a little more substantial.

I hate changing oil in my truck, I always make a mess. Decided that I was tired of using cardboard boxes and there had to be a better way to protect the garage floor and the driveway. This oil spill Matt worked perfectly with no issues. No issues with the small amount of spillage from the oil filter, was able to contain the oil with no real mess. I wish I had known about this Matt years ago. Well worth the investment.
My car was licking antifreeze, which still left marks on my driveway; what I did I folded the mat in half, & then it resolved the issue, until my car was finally fixed.
I’m not particularly concerned about ‘looks’ so I’ll commend the quality of the mat. The felt on the top side should be enough to soak any spills while the solid backing will prevent seeping onto floor. My only concern with this mat is the weight, or lack of it. I purchased the 30”x60” mat so it’s not abundantly large or heavy. It was placed on the driveway, underneath a car port, and every day I go to my vehicle the mat has ‘moved’. It doesn’t move when I drive over it so the movement occurs when I’m not around. I don’t know what’s causing the movement but I’m tempted to get some masonry nails to secure this mat to the floor.Next time I’ll pay more attention to the actual weight of the mat.
